Jeff Gordon is a man of many interests and lists car restoration as one of his favorite hobbies. He is the proud owner of a 1966 Mustang that he restored and modified in Somerset, NJ. The car has won several awards at car shows and cruise nights.

The 1966 Mustang is an iconic Ford design. It was such a huge hit when it came out that over 600,000 units of the model were sold, outselling its nearest rival, the Chevy Impala, almost two to one. The 1966 Mustang's popularity continued to persist years after it was released, and in fact, it is still the best-selling Mustang of all time.

Due to its popularity, Ford created three special editions of the 1966 Mustang, one of which was the GT. Mustang GTs have more powerful V-8 engines, which were upgraded from the standard Mustang V-8. In addition to the engine upgrade, the 1966 Mustang GT had different, flashier trim, a new gas cap, and racing stripes.

Tips for Fuel Efficiency

A Jiffy Lube franchise owner since 1990, Jeff Gordon, of Somerset, NJ, has years of experience helping his customers maintain their vehicles to keep them running for as long as possible. With locations in Franklin Township and Bridgewater, NJ, Jeff Gordon provides high-quality customer service to clients throughout the area, helping people maximize their driving experience.

Many people are concerned about improving fuel efficiency. In addition to purchasing hybrid vehicles or other fuel efficient cars, there are many simple ways to maximize fuel efficiency in any vehicle. Controlling speed is one way to improve efficiency. To avoid letting your speed creep up on the highway, consider setting cruise control for long trips. Keeping your car properly maintained pays dividends on fuel efficiency, and regular engine maintenance, properly inflated tires, and using manufacturer recommended motor oil, all can greatly improve fuel economy. For summer driving, using the AC or having the windows rolled down can make cars less efficient. For best results, keep windows rolled up for highway driving, and set your air conditioner as low as possible.

The Importance of Regular Vehicle Maintenance

A longtime Jiffy Lube franchisee, Jeff Gordon serves as managing partner of two J & G Lubrication Co. locations in Somerset and Bridgewater, NJ. Concurrent to his work at the Somerset, NJ, location, Jeff Gordon has thrice helped the Bridgewater facility achieve a spot atop Jiffy Lube’s list of most vehicles aided with maintenance services.

Many seek the help of professional automotive services companies when they experience car problems or need oil changes, but it is even more important to have them conduct regular maintenance. With the right care, you can catch emerging problems before they cause your vehicle to require expensive repairs. Not only will this help prevent breakdowns, but it will also increase the overall health and life of your car.

A frequent oil change is perhaps the most important form of car maintenance. Fresh oil provides a wealth of benefits to your engine, including friction reduction, internal heat minimization, and longer life. When you go to a service center, you should also have the technicians check your tires and ask that they rotate them. In addition, having your brakes regularly inspected will make your vehicle safer and can prevent you from getting into otherwise avoidable car accidents.
